Guest Speaker was Alice Koehler, President and CEO of Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine (LVIM). LVIM Programs & Services include Primary Care, Healthy Living Coach, Diagnosis, Pharmacy, vision, dental, and mental health. To qualify, a patient must be a Polk resident, “working” but earning less than 200% of Federal Poverty Level, and uninsured. Operating Budget comes from grants, state, county, United Way, private contributions, and fundraising events such as “Swan Derby” and the “Gift of Good Health” luncheon. LVIM’s work is supported by 351 Volunteers contributing 31,322 hours, and they served 2,531 patients in 2024.
